A maternity session is the perfect way to celebrate a truly unique and sacred time in your life. Whether you’re posing solo, as a couple, or with your children, it’s a powerful moment right before the arrival of someone who will change your life forever. I’ll be there to make this experience relaxing and fun for you! Unsure about what to wear? I’ve curated a client closet filled with beautiful maternity dresses for you to borrow. We’ll consult about outfits ahead of time and I’ll show up with several options. I’ll capture your most flattering angles so someday your baby can point to your belly and say, “That’s me!” As an experienced Chicago maternity photographer, I’ll ensure that our location will have easy access and gorgeous surroundings that provide the perfect backdrop for your portrait session.
I take great care when selecting locations for your session. When I choose a location I consider the season, time of day, parking, and more. I'm proud to have locations all over Chicagoland including: Schaumburg, Naperville, Wheaton, Bartlett, and Barrington. I'm also delighted to offer sessions at The Morton Arboretum, of which I'm a member, for an additional location fee. In-home sessions are a wonderful option for portraits any time of year.
Once we begin planning your session, we will discuss time of day and which locations are closest to you. The most important thing is to choose where you're going to have dessert after our time together!
It's no secret, I love beautiful dresses. However, the reason why might surprise you! Flowing dresses add movement, light, and softness to your photos. They help to tell the story in your portraits and are as functional as they are pretty. Simple is the name of the game while we plan your session and nothing elaborate needs to be purchased. I'm proud to offer a client closet of ladies dresses that you may borrow for your session.
Once you book with me, I will send over a style guide full of ideas for the whole family. I include a list of local boutiques and salons that will ensure you and your family are taken care of and looking your best!
I generally recommend booking your maternity session during your first trimester and choosing a date when you are in the later part of your second or early third trimester to ensure you are feeling your best. My weekends fill quickly, especially in spring and fall. Should you desire maternity photos later in your pregnancy, don't fret! It's always worth reaching out to see if I have availability.
To reserve your date, I'll need a contract as well as a deposit. And if something comes up and you need to change your date, just let me know.
No one wants to get dressed up just to stand in the rain. If it looks like it's going to rain, snow, hail or some other weather catastrophe, I'll be in touch via email or phone to reschedule. Rarely, if it's not raining, but it's too overcast outside, we will find another date.
For the love of all things beautiful, please don't print your photos at pharmacies or big box stores. The quality of printed products from these companies is often disappointing. What's worse is that I'm unable to advocate on your behalf should something go wrong with your order.
I'm proud to offer prints, canvases, framed art, and albums which you can purchase directly from your online gallery. All of my printed products are produced by professional print labs and the quality and attention to detail is incredible. I also understand the desire to have digital files of your images. Easy to follow full-resolution downloads and printing rights are included with your gallery.
